Privacy policy
Overview
Malapit Na is a destination-alarm app for Android. You choose a stop and the app uses your device's location to alert you as you approach it. The app has no account system, advertising SDK, Fri Vei As analytics, or Fri Vei As backend.
Location and ride data
When you start a destination alarm, Malapit Na processes precise or approximate location on your device to calculate the distance to your chosen stop. With your permission, this continues when the screen is off or the app is closed or not in use. A visible ongoing notification is shown while the ride is active. Location processing stops when you cancel the ride or dismiss the alarm.
Live location fixes are held temporarily in memory and are not added to ride history or sent to Fri Vei As. A system geofence may be registered on the device as a backup alarm trigger.
Data stored on your device
Malapit Na stores saved-stop names and coordinates, an active destination and alarm distance, ride history, language and alarm settings, and the last map view on your device. This app-controlled data is not uploaded to Fri Vei As.
Delete individual saved stops in the app. Cancel a ride to remove the active destination. Clearing Malapit Na's app data or uninstalling the app removes all app-controlled stored data. There is no remote account record for Fri Vei As to delete.
Google Maps and network requests
When the map is displayed, Google Maps SDK for Android supplies map content. Google states that the SDK automatically collects request and device metadata, SDK crash metrics and stack traces, IP address, a Maps SDK-specific pseudonymous identifier, and—depending on use—map interactions such as panning and zooming. Google uses this information to maintain and improve its services. It is separate from the live ride location, saved stops, and ride history that Malapit Na keeps on the device.
If you explicitly share a Google Maps short link with Malapit Na, the app sends a limited request to Google to follow that link and read coordinates from its destination. Google necessarily receives the request's IP address and standard connection metadata. The shared link is not retained by Malapit Na after it is resolved.

Permissions
- Precise, approximate, and background location: calculate distance and keep an active destination alarm working when the app is not in use.
- Notifications and full-screen alarms: show ride progress and alert you over the lock screen.
- Foreground service, wake lock, vibration, and boot: keep an armed ride visible, sound the alarm, and restore a recent active ride after a device restart.
- Internet: load Google Maps and resolve a Google Maps link you explicitly share.
You can change permissions in Android Settings. Removing location permission prevents the destination alarm from tracking your ride.
Children
Malapit Na is not designed for children under 13. Fri Vei As does not knowingly collect personal information from children through an account or backend.
Security, changes, and contact
App-controlled ride data remains in Android's private app storage. Malapit Na does not operate a server that receives this data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and device security also depends on your Android settings and physical control of the device.

Google Maps at network requests
